Love-L Jake was foaled on October 3, 1998 at the Love-L Ranch. He is
out of Indiana Chinook and Triton Katie. He was a natural birth and Katie
was a fine mother to him. He was imprinted the first day and is not
fearful of humans. In fact, he is very friendly and
inquisitive. He is 14.3 hands and is full of energy.
|
Jake is trained to drive and work under saddle. He has proven to love to work and is quick to learn.
|
Jake was the star pupil at the All American Equine Demonstrations (Spirit of
the Western Horse) at the State Fair of Texas in 2002. He won the
hearts of all of the trainers that worked with him as well as the audiences that
came by. He represented the Morgan Horse breed admirably.
|
He placed well at Heritage Morgan Horse Show 2003 in Athens. With his
sport and endurance bloodlines, he shows promise to be an all around winner in
what ever task he is put to. He reflects the true utility capabilities the
Morgan is known for.

Jake became a "project horse" for Pete in 2012 as Pete began his horsemanship journey. Jake had, over the previous decade, developed
a superb sense of self-preservation by shutting down anytime anyone would try to work with him. And, as Pete found out, he had become
a very dangerous horse should he be taken out of his comfort zone. In the spring of 2013, Pete began working with Jake to bring him
out of the self-preservation mode and to understand Jake's thoughts counted. By mid 2013, a "light" turned on in Jake and his self-confidence
skyrocketed and so did his confidence in Pete. Jake is now Pete's go-to horse for most things around the ranch (Chinook is jealous) and Jake
has become Pete's parade horse. When Pete needed a sure ride after hernia surgery, Jake was the horse chosen and Jake delivered. When Pete
decided to ride again in Buck Brannaman's clinic in 2017, Jake was there and came through with flying colors. Soon after Buck's clinic,
Jake made another significant change and fully trusts himself and Pete to this day. Jake has taught Pete a lot
over the last 5 years and Pete looks forward to many more years of learning to come (for both Jake and Pete).
